Elephant Ear Growing and Maintenance Tips:

This is a Wow! plant.  You can keep it over winter as a houseplant; bring the entire pot in and place in a sunny spot.  Water about once every two weeks.  To keep as a bare bulb, before frost in the fall, chop the top of the plant off a couple inches above the soil.  Dig the bulb and store bare in a dark spot over winter.  In February when the days begin to get longer,  pot the bare bulb into good potting soil (with slow-release fertilizer added), place in a warm, sunny location; water very little until you see signs of growth on the stem.  They are slow to emerge in spring so be patient--they are worth the wait!
